I am often asked to suggest plants that will perform well in specific cultural conditions or that offer unique characteristics. To that end, I offer the following lists. I have developed these lists over a period of many years based on my own experience and that of other knowledgeable gardeners. These are intended as guides to aid northern gardeners in plant selection and are not meant to be comprehensive lists.
